H1N1

Dear Brothers,

With regards to the recent outbreak of the pandemic H1N1, please kindly take note of the following points and exercise social responsibility:

1. If you or your immediate family members have travelled to the following country: (Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Philippines, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States of America, Indonesia and Hong Kong SAR), you should call 993 for medical assistance if they feel unwell within seven days of arrival.

2. Also, if you have any of these symptoms, consult a doctor immediately.

• High fever (> 38 deg C)
• Sore throat
• Cough
• Body aches
• Runny nose
• Headaches
• Tiredness

1. MOE has just annouced that schools will resume lessons as according to the schedule on 29 June 2009 (Monday). Refer to this website for more information: http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/2009/06/precautionary-measures-h1n1.php

2. Please do take note that Scout unit meetings/events/activities as planned by the PLC or Leaders will be carried out accordingly. All activities will be suspended only when orders are given by:

a. MOE
b. School
c. The Singapore Scout Association

3. In order to play our part as a responsible citizen, all Scouts are to bring their themometer with them whenever they attend any activity/event/meetings. PLs will conduct a temperature check on their patrol members before commencing the activity. Scouts who have the temperature of 37.5 degree or more, will be sent home immediately.

4. We will be mornitoring all attendance strictly during this period. Should there be any absentees, it will deem as unwell and absentees will be reported to the school for any preventive actions to be taken.

5. Last but not least, drink plently of water. Keep yourself healthy!
