White Stag 56th Campfire

Dear fellow Scouts,

There will be an upcoming campfire this coming Saturday at Siglap Secondary School.  The official theme of this campfire is "Return of the Knight" and it will last from 1800 hours to 2200 hours. Everyone is to dress up and report in their Knight 'costume' with Scout Pants/Culotte and Black shoes.

On the day of the campfire itself, those who have registered for the campfire will report at East Spring Secondary School's main gate at 1700 hours. We will begin to move off at about 1725 hours towards Siglap Secondary School. Please be punctual and do not be late!

Ceasure of Meetings

To all Scouts,

With regards to the upcoming CA1 Common Tests starting this Thursday, all Scout meetings will be ceased until further notice. This is to ensure that everyone focuses and have more time on their studies for the upcoming tests. There will not be a Study Group for this term so there is no excuse to tell your parents/guardians that you have CCA on the upcoming Wednesdays and Fridays.

In our Troop, we want to achieve the best in we can be for not just our standards, but also in our academic results too. So, study hard and get good grades for your CA1!

Please also help to spread this message on my behalf around to your other fellow brother and sister Scouts.

Friday's Meeting

Dear all,

As we all have already worn our Scout Uniform today, there is no need for you guys to wear it again for this Friday's meeting, please report in your dark blue unit tee and PE shorts, Scout meeting as per usual. For those attending the upcoming Adiji Cheif Scout event this Saturday, it is advisable for you to wash your Uniform, so that it would be fresh for the event. And to those that have received their Adiji Cheif Scout Event Badge, please sew it on top of your Troop Badge.

As you all know, tomorrow is Founder's Day, everyone is required to go to school in their Full-U,

please Fall In By 6.30am at the parade square. Please remember to bring along your Berets too, PLEASE NOTE: All are required to wear their RED national scarf, as this is a national event. Please be early for Founder's Day as failure to comply will result in YOU having FUN with me during tomorrow's meeting.(not necessarily your type of fun ).

Scouts Investiture Ceremony 2012

To all Scouts,

There will be an Investiture Ceremony tomorrow held for the Secondary 1s to be invested as a Scout into the troop. You are required to report outside the Scout Den in your Full Scout Uniform on that day for the investiture. This also applies for the Secondary 1s. The details of the ceremony are as shown below: -

• Date: Tuesday, 21th February 2012
• Time: 16 30 hours / 04 30 PM
• Attire: Full Scout Uniform
• Involved: Everyone

If you are unable to make it for tomorrow's ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances, please tell me beforehand via SMS. Please make this message clear and help spread to everyone else and try not to be late as this ceremony is for your juniors to get invested as Scouts.

Total Defense Day 2012

To all Scouts,

As you all know, this upcoming Wednesday is Total Defense Day. Which means that everyone in school must wear their CCA Attire/Uniform. For us, all invested Scouts are to be present in Full Uniform with their Berets on Wednesday during morning assembly. Those Secondary One students who have not bought their uniforms are not required to wear. Please remind your fellow brothers and sisters about this piece of information. If you are not clear or have any doubts, feel free to drop me an SMS at 9662 3269. And also, please be present in your NATIONAL scarf, not your UNIT scarf as this is a National event.

I would like to remind all sec 3 Scouts who have signed up for the First Class Hike Training, that the training starts tomorrow @2.30pm sharp after school, materials that are required, must be brought tomorrow. I would like to inform all sec 1 Tenderfoots that you are also required to go for the Adiji Chief Scout Event, details will be passed on to you on Wednesday. Welcome To Oneida Scout Unit!

To our Tenderfoot Sec. 1 Scouts,

Welcome to Oneida Scouts! As you can see, this blog is our official Scout blog and form of communication of information between Leaders/PLC to members. If your Scouting friends do not know of this blog, please inform them of the URL as we always post many important information about meetings and events!

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. I am Shaun, your beloved ASPL (Assistant Senior Patrol Leader) of the Boys Scout Troop. I am usually handling all administrative matters that goes on in my troop for the boys. Our beloved SPL (Senior Patrol Leader) for the BST, as most of you already know, is Rong Xian. He handles the training and ensures that everything in the day's meeting goes on smoothly without disruptions. There are three patrols in the GST namely, Thunder Cats, Snow Tigers, Timber Wolves and Ice Sharks. By the way, Rong Xian is also the Troop Leader for the whole of Oneida Scout Unit.

Secondly, for the Girls Scout Troop, your beloved SPL would be Nicole. Unfortunately, as the GST is small in size, there is currently no appointed ASPL to the troop. There are three patrols in the GST namely, Thunder Cats, Snow Tigers and Timber Wolves. Same for the girls, Nicole handles most of the training in the GST.

Next, for communication wise, as I have mentioned earlier, this blog is our only main form of communication but, you may consider joining our Facebook group which we will add everyone in soon by the end of this month. Reminders to events will be posted on the Facebook group.
