NEW COURSE : Shore Support and Race Management 2011

Dearest Brothers and Sisters,

I'm pleased to announce that there is a new course that is opened. Below are the details.

Objective:-

Equip Scout with sufficient knowledge to assist in a sailing regatta as a recorder at mark rounding; assistant to the Race Officer or assistant to the Shore Support Officer.

Pre-requisite:-

Able to swim 50 metres confidently

Part 1 (Half Day Theory):-

Date : (Sat) 28 May 2011
Time : 9.30am – 1.00pm
Venue : National Sailing Centre, 1500 East Coast Parkway S(468963)
Attire : PT attire (Includes Badge, Certificate, 2meals during Practical)
Fee : $10.00
Capacity : 80 Scouts
Closing Date : (Sat) 16 Apr 2011
Things to bring : Extra Clothing, Toiletries, Old Shoes/Booties

Part 2 (2 Days Practical):-

Render of 2 days service for the following dates:-

1) 13-17 June 2011 - Singapore Optimist Open Championship
2) 6-7 August 2011 - Pesta Sukan Regatta

A Proficiency badge for Shore Support or Race Management will be awarded upon completion of the 2 Day Service.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Firstly, I would like all of you to bring your mess tin stove, solid fuels and mess tins on the next Wednesday (23 Mar 2011) meeting. All of you are to pay $0.50 for your food for outdoor cooking. The I/C for paying your money to would be Irfan Ong.

Secondly, please go and study through your Scout Standard Training Manual, there would be many tests next week and I would not want anyone to fail.

Lastly, please take note that your White Activity Tee and Blue Unit Tee are to be wore on every Wednesday and Friday, white for Wednesday and blue for Friday.

Update On Job Week Camp 12th March - 15th March

Please Note the following:

1. Please have your breakfast before you come for the camp.

2. Please be in Scout full Uniform when you are reporting on 12th March 7am SHARP.

3. Do bring the acknowledgment forms on Friday and pass to the Hulbert on Friday in scout office.

4. Sec 1 Please take note, Bring enough clothing for the camp as the Activity and Unit Shirt will not be ready by the Job Week Camp. All Shirt need to be Scout base / School Base (ONLY Secondary school)

Sec 1s to take note!!!

Dear Sec1s,

Please pay attention to the following details.

Firstly, I need you guys to really learn your notes in your training manual to avoid having to waste time on retesting and delay yourself getting your standard. There will be sudden test this coming week, it could be anyday, anywhere, anytime. So BE PREPARED!

Here are some of the things you will need to learn:

-Pack a Rug Sack

-Set a Map

-Start a Fire

-Highway Countrycode

Secondly, I need you guys to get a set of Mess Tin, Mess Tin stove and a packet of solid fuels. If you guys do not know what all this items are, please find out from your PLs. I need you guys to get it before the jobweek camp.

Thirdly, those who have any problems with your nametags such as not receiving it yet, wrong spelling etc. Please look for me outside scout den on Tuesday straight after school.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A gentle reminder for all to bring their money and consent forms for job week camp on friday.

Reporting time for the camp on the 11th has changed to 8PM instead of 5 as previously stated. you have to settle your own dinner before attending the camp.

Report in your PT kit for the sec ones and activity tee with PE pants for sec 2s and above. this camp is very important for the funding of our unit, thus i strongly urge you all to attend this camp.

BTW the leaders will drop by your house to pick you up for the camp if you do not turn up without a valid reason.
