SCDF: Civil Defence Badge Scheme

I am pleased to announce that the Civil Defence Badge Course for 2011 is now open to scouts for registration.

please take note that there will be a strict uniform inspection at the start of the course. Failure to show up with marching boots will be an immediate OOC (Out-Of-Course) and you will not be able to obtain the footdrill proficiency badge.

Also, please take note that you will need to know how to command, execute and give proper timing in order to pass the course.

Updated Scuba Diving Course *HOT!!!*

Presenting to you the latest course available: Basic Scuba Diving Course.
Below are the details.

1. Course Objectives
Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it
Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step.

Outram Secondary School

5 March 2011 (Saturday) 2pm – 6pm

4. Course Fees
$50 per person

5. Eligibility
-Scouts (Min.14 years old)

there will be a Civil Defense course and a SANA course that will be held. Below are the details.

Civil Defence Badge Course 2011
- Open to Scouts (aged 13-14 years) or Sec. 1 & 2.

- Course Fee: $3.00 per participant/Scout

- 4 Intakes / Dates: 26 March, 14 June, 06 September and 18 November.


SANA Badge Course for 2011
- Open to Scouts (aged 13-15 years) or Sec. 1 to 3.

- Course Fee: $10.00 per participant/Scout

- 7th Intakes / Dates: 17 March, 15 June, 16 June, 08 September, 15 November, 16 November and 17 November.

Footdrill Course 2011

Dear Brothers and Sisters

There will be a upcoming Footdrill Course (FDC). This course is conducted by certified footdrill instructors.

This course is compulsory for those you have passed their advance and yet to go for footdrill course. This course is also open to those who has passed their scout standard. Should you miss this course you will have to wait till next year before another one is organised.

The following are details for the Footdrill Course:
Date: 22 & 29 Jan 2011
Time: 9am - 4pm
Attire: Full Scout Uniform with Red Scarf, Beret and proper marching boots.
How to sign up: Please give your names to your respective Troop Instructors by 19 Jan 2011.

Please bring your own lunch money!

Upon completion of this course, then will you pass the footdrill section for your advance scout standard. You will also receive the footdrill proficiency badge upon passing. Please ensure that your uniform is in tip-top condition for this course otherwise you will fail this course.

Unit Meeting 7/1/11

Hello all,

Welcome back to school. Hope you guys had a great holiday. As you all know the first unit meeting is on the 7th which is this friday. Do not confuse Unit meetings with wednesday's patrol meetings. You will be doing your patrol pioneering and cooking as well as CCA Open House Preparations.

Time: 14 30 - 18 30

Remember that attendance is COMPULSORY. Failure to attend your CCA without a valid reason will result in detention.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Its the start of 2011...

Just like that another wonderful year has ended.

1. The centenary white scarf should no longer be worn. This means that you will have to get your red scarf ready once again.

2. Scout meeting will resume on Wednesday, 5 January 2011.
