SYF MARCHING CONTINGENT
Here are the details for your SYF Marching Rehearsals for next week
Attached below is the letter you need for your subject teachers and form teachers to sign and acknowledge on each day that you will be involved for your rehearsals.
Please print the image below. If you have any problems with printing please see me early morning tomorrow during morning assembly attendance taking to get the letter from me.
You can report to school in your half uniform attire with your activity t-shirt (white) on Monday and in your unit t-shirt(blue) for Wednesday. You will leave for greenview together at 10.00 am after showing the letter below to your subject teacher.
As for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday you will meet directly at Greenview Sec at 6.30 am in full uniform. There is no need for you to come to school. I have informed your teachers already.
Any doubts you can call Marcus or myself.

To all Advance Scout Standard Holder
Some GOOD NEWS for all!
I will be personally conducting a First Class Exploration Lecture this coming Wednesday, (23 June 2010) from 6pm to 8.30pm
Venue: To be Confirmed (Most likely to be at Hulbert House so muslim can do their night prayers.)
Things to bring:
Writing Materials (Bring a lot of papers please. One piece is definitely not enough)
Fine tip Markers (Bring all if you have more then one type of colour)
Topographical Map = 1:50000 (Photocopy the area which will include ECP, Bedok, Tampines, Paya Lebar, Toa Payoh(if possible), Pasir Ris. After which, please laminate it. Also, ensure the grid of the box is 2cm by 2cm. If not sure, ask marcus)
3 pieces of transparency
Those who do not have this will be asked to go home.
You will learn all necessary skills on exploration as well as guide to prepare yourself for the Exploration Test. You will also be receiving your First Class Training Manual which will cost $4.50.
After this lecture, you should be better equipped with the skills and knowledge for your upcoming exploration test.
Please kindly SMS your attendance to Venture Karmun by 7pm by Tuesday 21 June 2010 so she can prepare the manuals for you guys.
p/s: Apologise that it has to be at that time as I am only free during that slot and I only end my work at 5.30pm. So kindly explain to your parents if needed ya?
Like I always say, only if you are interested in achieving your First Class and CCA. Otherwise, please don't deprive the rest of our attention and help to those who are interested in their journey for FCS/CCA. Having said this, this is your own choice to make if you wanna attend. NOT COMPULSORY!

Annoucement to ALL SCOUTS and Parents
Soon enough, school will resume in less than 2 weeks time. Let me take this opportunity to thank all Scouts for your active participation and your enthusiasm for attending all Scout meetings and call ups. Also, the Group would also like to thank the Parents, for their everlasting support to your child/ward in all the activities.
As we understand very much of the packed and hectic schedule the Group's program and the Association have. We are pleased to inform you of the following:
1. Starting from 5 July 2010 to 13 August 2010, there will not be any meetings conducted on Wednesdays. This is to allow your child to return home early to spend more time with you and your family.
2. In view of the Singapore Youth Festival 2010 participation, the Group have decided to cancel the 1st week of meeting (Wednesday & Friday) when Term 3 starts (28 June 2010 to 2 July 2010).
3. Taking into consideration of our Scouts' academics in school, the Group also have decided to bring forward 2 weeks earlier of our Group's practice to convert normal meetings to Oneida Study Group. Please do take note that Scouts are required to attend Wednesday Study Group. Hence, the effective date that the Oneida Study Group (Wednesdays & Fridays) will start from 16 August 2010 to 30 September 2010.
In order to make this Oneida Study Group Session more effective, your child/ward will be group into their individual Patrol (size of maximum 8 members) and will be allocated a classroom to study. The Ventures (graduates of ESSS) will be present to assist your child/ward should they have any questions.
4. In order to allow you to understand your child's/ward's involvement in Scouting, below is a Goggle Calendar with all activities of the Group's activities, Courses as well as programs available for you to view.
Please take note that this arrangement is made for the Group's Program. Should your child/ward have signed up for any course(s), he/she should attend all required meetings.
All parents will receive a letter of this announcement by our Group Scout Leader (Teacher in Charge) when school reopens.
WE, Oneida Scout Group, care for each and every member as one family. If you have concerns and or any queries for your child's/ward's growth as well as the program of the group, please do not hesitate to contact our Group Scout Leader (Teacher in-Charge) Mr. Basheer Khan at HP No. 9765 1923. The Scout Teachers in charge as well as our committed Leaders and ICs will be glad to work together with you.

For all those interested in the Singapore Jamboree, please let us know by 20 June 2010, 1600hrs. After that we will not accept anymore registration. The Singapore Jamboree only comes every 10 years so don't miss it. The cost of the Jamboree is $200.

So, anyway as you guys and girls know in order to subsidise course fee and purchase new equipment for the unit, we have to work hard for donation draw.
Our target earnings is $10, 000. In order to find out what motivates you guys, I will need you guys and girls to complete a survey. It takes about 3 minutes to complete. Just click on the link Click here to take survey to complete the survey.
This is also the best and the only opportunity in a year for you to earn your squirrel badge.
The following are requirement for you to earn your squirrel badge:
Merit - At least 10 booklets & above
Bronze - At least 15 booklets & above
Sliver - At least 20 booklets & above
Gold - At least 30 booklets & above
Bonus: For those who sells more than 60 booklets, ONEIDA SCOUT GROUP will sponsor half of what you have to pay for the Singapore Jamboree 2010!!!

* You are expected to exercise your own responsibility over your personal belongings.
* You are to bring a proper rucksack/ backpack for this camp so that it is easier for you to carry.
Note to participants:
1. Know your stuff! (Read up on information posted in the forum such as the Oneida History or even research for the Camping Standards, Campsite Development so that you can prepare for the camp better.)
2. The roles of the PL/APL and Scribe will be rotational everyday so that everyone has a chance to learn. Therefore, please prepare!
Fall in outside the Scout Den in your Full Uniform (with White Centenary Scarf).
